Our Story

Born on the Palmer Divide, Built for Douglas County

Castle Rock Appliance Service was founded in 2016 by technicians who recognized a gap in the Douglas County market: homeowners with premium appliances -- Sub-Zero refrigerators, Wolf ranges, Thermador ovens -- were being forced to wait days for Denver-based repair companies to make the drive south along I-25. When those technicians finally arrived, they applied generic sea-level diagnostics to equipment operating nearly a thousand feet above the Mile High City.

We built this company to solve that problem. By basing our operation in Castle Rock rather than Denver, we eliminated the travel delays that plague Douglas County homeowners. More importantly, we invested in understanding how premium appliances actually behave at 6,200 feet on the Palmer Divide -- not how they are supposed to behave according to factory specifications written at sea level.

Just like The Rock that gives our town its name, we stand firm in our commitment to quality repair. Over the years we have compiled altitude-specific performance data for every major appliance category across all seventeen premium brands we service. This body of knowledge came from thousands of service calls across Castle Rock, Castle Pines, The Meadows, and every community we serve along the Palmer Divide.

Why Altitude Matters

The Palmer Divide Difference

The Palmer Divide is not simply "high altitude" in the generic sense. It is a specific geological feature -- the elevated ridge that separates Colorado's two major river drainages -- that creates a microclimate unlike anywhere else along the Front Range. Castle Rock sits squarely atop this divide at 6,200 feet.

Atmospheric pressure at 6,200 feet is approximately eighteen percent lower than at sea level, which directly affects how refrigerant behaves inside sealed cooling systems, how gas combustion occurs in ranges and cooktops, and at what temperature water boils inside your oven or dishwasher. The Palmer Divide's extreme aridity accelerates the degradation of every rubber gasket, silicone seal, and flexible hose inside your premium appliances.

Our technicians factor every one of these Palmer Divide realities into every diagnosis we perform. This is not a marketing phrase -- it is a fundamentally different diagnostic framework.

What Guides Our Work

Altitude-First Diagnostics

Every diagnosis begins with Palmer Divide conditions as the baseline. We never apply sea-level assumptions to equipment operating at 6,200 feet. This fundamental approach prevents misdiagnoses and unnecessary replacements.

Honest Communication

We tell you what we find, explain the repair options in clear language, and provide transparent pricing before any work begins. If your appliance is beyond economical repair, we will say so directly.

Respect for Your Home

Castle Rock homes represent significant investments. Shoe covers, protective mats, thorough cleanup, and courteous communication are non-negotiable standards on every service call.
