Two shops turned us down flat once they heard how old the 648PRO is — one of them would not even send a technician to look at it. It has sat rock steady since.

Frost kept building along the frame of the fresh-food door on our 48-inch built-in. The technician showed me the gasket had gone hard and lost its memory, and that the hinge cartridge had sagged just enough to break the seal at the top corner. He replaced both, then spent a few minutes explaining what causes it and what to look for later — a gasket that no longer springs back, or a door that needs a nudge to shut. I appreciated being told rather than just billed.

After our kitchen remodel the hood roared like a jet and still let steam hang over the range. Two technicians before this one told us the blower was tired and quoted a new one; neither of them put an instrument anywhere near it. This company went up into the ceiling, found the duct run had been crushed flat where the remodel crew routed it around a new beam, rebuilt the transition, and then actually measured the airflow at the hood so we could see the difference. Our technician opened it up, found the air damper motor stuck wide open so freezer air poured into the fresh-food section, and replaced the damper for a small fraction of that quote. Honest work.
